Dirk has been part of my family for the past 27 years. We first met Dirk and his wife Helene and their five children shortly after Terry commenced working in Allanridge at Lorraine Gold Mine, Dirk was Terry's foreman. Over the years although both families moved away from Allanridge we always kept in contact. Dirk and Helene moved back to the Free State a few years ago lived in Theunissen up until his death. Dirk enjoyed a game of Darts and was well know in the Dart fraternity having obtained many medals for his efforts.
Dirk will be sadly missed not only by his family but by myself as he became my soul mate and mentor after the death of my husband Terry, any problems or anything that needed attention Dirk was always ready to help.
Rest in peace my friend.
